8K a year Southern Forestry Consultants is looking to hire an experienced forester to manage forest operations and assist the Area Manager in all facets of thriving consulting forestry practice.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day forest operations and staff.
Assist with existing client relations and procurement of new clients.
Technical forestry work (timber cruising, timber marking, prescribed burning, etc.
) Develop new lines of work and make improvements in existing systems and operations Qualifications/Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Forestry from a Society of American Foresters accredited program is required.
A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in consulting forestry, forest industry, timber procurement (or similar) Must be honest, ethical, and possess a strong work ethic.
Leadership skills and experience in working with and managing personnel Background and experience in prescribed fire implementation Applicants must be in good physical condition.
Familiarity with common forest technology is expected.
Good communication, interpersonal, and written skills are needed.
Able and willing to work long hours when necessary Strong ability to multi-task
